Sunset Transportation and Scouting For Food
"Scouting for Food" is considered to be the largest on day food drive in the country. Every November Sunset Transportation helps the Boy Scouts by organizing the logistics for the food drive. Over 50 tractor trailers loads full and what is expected to be over 2.2 million pounds of food gets picked up from various fire stations in St. Louis and transferred to the St. Louis Area Food Bank, where it will then be distributed to those in need (more than 400 food pantries). Sunset became involved in Scouting for Food six years ago when the U.S. Army who used to handle the endeavor was deployed to Iraq.

The council, which includes St. Louis City, 27 counties in eastern Missouri and 10 counties in Southern Illinois, has collected more than 29 million pounds of food, with the help of scouts, parents, and volunteers.
